Jiangsu Junhua Special Plastics has cooperated with Saudi Arabia, PetroChina, Sinopec, Petroleum University, Xi’an and other customers to produce PEEK support sealing rings, PEEK front and rear plugs, PEEK insulating rings, PEEK plates, PEEK insulating wires, PEEK spacer rings, PEEK retaining rings, PEEK wear-resistant sleeves and other products.

High-performance plastic parts such as high-temperature wear-resistant sleeves, insulating rings, front and rear plugs made of PEEK and its modified composite materials can replace traditional materials such as copper alloys, stainless steel, polytetrafluoroethylene, ordinary engineering plastics, graphite, etc., and meet the stringent technical requirements of oil logging and mining equipment for parts such as wear resistance, high temperature resistance, high strength, oil-free lubrication, acid and alkali corrosion, and high reliability. It can reduce operating costs and help the equipment to produce continuously and stably at a higher capacity.

II. Exhibited Products

The high-performance plastic parts made of PEEK polymer and composite materials produced by our company have been widely used in various links such as downhole measurement, oil extraction, petrochemical equipment production and transportation.

(1) Continuous carbon fiber CF/PEEK composite pipes:

◆ 67% longer service life than steel pipes

◆ 65% lighter than metal pipes

◆ More resistant to corrosion by hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide than steel pipes

◆ Long-term use in methanol and 160°C environment

◆ Smooth corrosion resistance ensures excellent fluidity

◆ Replaces corrosion-resistant alloys often used in pipeline systems in the oil and gas industry.

(2) PEEK is used for sealing: reliable sealing solution:

◆ In seawater, hydrocarbons, and 100% hydrogen sulfide gas environment, the strength retention rate reaches 100% after 175℃ high temperature for 1000 hours.

◆Twice the compression resistance of PTFE

◆300 times the creep resistance of PTFE

◆18 times the compression creep resistance of PTFE

◆Replace metal springs to reduce the risk of seals wearing and contacting the well wall (energy absorbing spring).

In some industries (including oil and gas), the main use of PEEK is to provide mechanical support for softer sealing materials (such as elastomers and fluoropolymers), while in other industries, the properties of this material make it very suitable as a primary seal.

(3) Application of PEEK in ESP electric submersible pumps (submersible oil pumps):

◆Excellent high temperature resistance, excellent insulation even at 250℃

◆High mechanical strength even at 250℃

◆High reliability even at 200℃ and 140MPa high pressure for a long time.

◆Excellent high temperature resistance and excellent insulation, high mechanical strength even at 250℃.

(4) Application of PEEK logging instruments: Excellent wear resistance and insulation: ◆ It can maintain high reliability even under high temperature of 200℃ and high pressure of 140MPa for a long time. ◆ The insulator can be used for a long time in high temperature and strong acidic medium (H2S, SO2) underground without being corroded. ◆ It has unique comprehensive performance, with wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and stable electrical properties in its entire operating temperature range, which helps to maintain the integrity of the collected data and at the same time brings lower electrical interference.

(6) Application of PEEK connectors: Improving the overall performance of downhole connectors: ◆ Lifespan is twice as long as glass-ceramic connectors ◆ Power transmission capacity is twice as long as glass-ceramic connectors ◆ Excellent insulation performance ensures no leakage ◆ Excellent tolerance in corrosive liquid and gas environments ◆ PEEK polymers have high purity and strength, allowing for thinner wall sections to be designed in more compact connectors, and can perform well even in confined spaces.
◆ Able to withstand typical oil and gas industry fluids, including seawater, mineral oil and silicone oil, as well as hydraulic fluids, and are also suitable for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) acid gas wells. PEEK’s performance is far higher than the NORSOK M-710 standard, which is an important specification for the oil and gas industry.
